About Us

Caring for our land means caring for the people who live on it. That is the defining principle behind Draffan Tree Services. Based proudly in Gisborne and serving the wider Tairāwhiti region, we treat your environment with the respect it deserves. To us, trees are never just jobs. They are living components of your home, critical to your family’s safety, and central to your livelihood.

Who We Are

As trusted regional experts, we bridge the gap between traditional tree care and next-generation forestry technology. Our mission is simple: keeping local properties safe and thriving.

Rather than relying on large ground crews on high-risk terrain, we focus on smart, low-impact operations. By combining professional climbing and rigging capabilities with the region's first remote-controlled steep land & forestry mulcher, we deliver reliable, optimized tree and land solutions.

Our Values

Our company culture and daily operations are built entirely around our three core pillars:

Performance: We specialize in complex environments where others can’t operate. By introducing our remote-controlled steep terrain & forestry mulcher, we systematically clear dense gorse, blackberry, and wilding pines on extreme slopes up to 61 degrees with near-zero operator risk, maximum clearing efficiency and minimal ground disturbance.

Precision: Tree care is both a science and a craft. Our team uses advanced climbing, directional felling, and precision rigging techniques to manage trees safely, preserving the integrity of the surrounding landscape and flawless asset protection.

Protection: Safety is non-negotiable. We protect our workers, your property, and the land. We back this commitment up by being Tōtika Health & Safety Certified with Comprehensive Public Liability Insurance.
